Lusail Museum: Tales of a Connected World

Qatar Museums will present a special exhibition at QM Gallery Al Riwaq that prefigures a new museum designed by Herzog & de Meuron currently under development in Lusail.
The new museum will house Qatar Museum's Orientalist collection, one of the most significant collections of this type of art ever assembled, as well as archaeological artefacts, art and media from prehistoric times to the 21st century.
The exhibition will explore the cultural interactions between the greater MENA region and its peripheries, Europe, Central and East Africa, and Central, South and East Asia. It will showcase the role of art in the transformation of cultural representations from the pre-Islamic period to the 21st century and its repercussions.
The exhibition is curated by Dr. Xavier Dectot, Director of the Lusail Museum, with Kholood Al Fahad, Curator, and Monira Al Khayarin, Dr. Sophie Bostock, Curator of Drawings, and Dr. Giles Hudson, Curator of Photographs.
