Isa Genzken (born 1948, Germany)

In her large-scale public sculptures, renowned German artist Isa Genzken explores the relationship between architecture, nature and popular culture. Rose III is an eight-metre-high sculpture of a single long-stemmed rose in cast aluminium and galvanized steel. It is based on an actual rose picked by the artist which was then scanned in 3D and reproduced on a monumental scale.

Genzken produced her first Rose sculpture in the early nineties, and it has since become one of the artist’s best-known works.
