Coil-Building Basics Workshop with Bouchra Boudoua

Attend a beginner’s clay workshop with Moroccan ceramics designer Bouchra Boudoua. The workshop is an initiation to the ‘coil-building’ pottery technique and an introduction to clay as a material. In this workshop, participants will learn how to make small pots using coil-building techniques. The workshop is process-oriented and will provide a simple way of coming in contact with clay, building an appreciation for the therapeutic malleability of the material. Participants will make a small pot to experiment with shape, size, and pattern.

This is a 2-hour long workshop with clay. Clay and materials are provided.

Bouchra Boudoua is an artist and designer based between Marrakech and Casablanca. She graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Design in London and obtained a BA in Spatial Design. Today, she works from her creative studio in Marrakech, where she collaborates with local potters to create functional and decorative ceramics.
