BIOGRAPHIES
Michael Bekker
Michael Bekker joined Herzog & de Meuron's London office in 2006 and soon after moved to Basel and began as Project Manager on the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, New York, USA. He moved with the Parrish Art Museum project to New York City in 2007, where he helped to establish Herzog & de Meuron's New York office. In 2008 he returned to the Basel offices where he played a vital role in the development of the exhibition spaces for the Tate Modern Project in London, UK. Since then he has been responsible for a number of major museum projects including the Kolkata Museum of Modern Art in India, the Orientalist Museum in Doha, Qatar, and the Vancouver Art Gallery in Vancouver, Canada. More recently Michael has acted as the Project Director for a range of projects including a private residence in the UK, a business school in the UAE and several commercial developments. Michael graduated with honors from Deakin University in Victoria, Australia in 2000. From 2001 to 2005 he worked as an architect and project architect on various high profile projects in Australia and England with Denton Corker Marshall, and became a registered architect in Australia in 2004.
