Part of the Qatar-Indonesia 2023 Year of Culture September event series, Indonesian Workshop Month will showcase Indonesian culture here in Qatar. 

During this immersive workshop at Liwan, participants will learn about the unique Javanese tradition of Wayang Suket, or "straw puppets”. 

The puppet-making workshop will begin with an introduction to the history, forms, characters and philosophy of Wayang Suket.

Participants will then be guided step-by-step to make their own Wayang Suket puppets before taking part in a small live performance alongside the facilitators.
